    Jell-O Lime Margarita Smoothie

    1/2 cup boiling water
    1 package lime Jell-O gelatin
    2 cups vanilla ice cream
    1 cup milk
    1/2 cup canned pineapple tidbits, drained
        (fresh can be substituted)

    In a blender, pour in boiling water then gelatin powder. Cover and blend for a couple of seconds; scrape sides of container.

    To blender, add the ice cream, milk, and pineapple; also add a few handsful of crushed ice. Replace cover and blend until smooth; serve immediately.

    Fruit Smoothies

    34% calorie reduction from traditional recipe

    1 cup orange juice
    1 cup fat-free plain yogurt
    1 frozen banana*
    1 cup frozen strawberries or raspberries
    1/4 cup Equal Spoonful**

    *Peel and cut banana into large chunks. Place in plastic freezer bag, seal and freeze at least 5 to 6 hours or overnight.

    **May substitute 6 packets Equal sweetener

    Place all ingredients in blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.

    Makes 2 servings.

    Nutrition information per serving: 202 cal., 8 g pro., 45 g carb., 0 g fat, 3 mg chol., 78 mg sodium

    Easy Strawberry Smoothies

    49% calorie reduction from traditional recipe

    1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
    1/4 cup fat-free milk
    6 tablespoons Equal? Spoonful*
    3 cups frozen unsweetened strawberries
    1 cup ice cubes

    *May substitute 9 packets Equal? sweetener

    Combine yogurt, milk and Equal in blender container. With blender running, add berries, a few at a time, through opening in lid. Blend until smooth.

    Add ice cubes, one at a time, through opening in lid, blending until slushy. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

    Makes 4 servings

    Nutrition information per serving (6 ounces): 80 cal., 5 g pro., 16 g carb., 0 g fat, 2 mg chol., 60 mg sodium

    Tropical Fruit Smoothie

    1 (15 ounce) can cream of coconut
    1 medium banana
    1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, in juice
    1 cup orange juice
    1 tablespoon bottled lemon juice
    2 cups ice cubes

    In blender, combine all ingredients except ice. Blend well. Gradually add ice; blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

    Strawberry-Blueberry Smoothie

    1/2 cup frozen blueberries
    1 cup frozen strawberries
    1 frozen banana (peel banana before freezing)
    1 1/2 cups milk
    1/2 cup frozen vanilla, strawberry or blueberry yogurt

    Whirl all ingredients together in a blender until smooth. Serve immediately.

    Serves 3 to 4.

    Southwest Smoothie

    Servings: 3

    1/2 cup sliced banana
    1/2 cup mango, papaya or guava, chopped
    2 cups milk
    1 tablespoon honey

    Add all ingredients to a blender container; cover and process on high speed until smooth. Strain if using mango.

    Raspberry Smoothie

    3/4 cup water
    2 cups raspberries, frozen
    2/3 cup granulated sugar

    Combine all ingredients in blender, breaking raspberries apart if clumped together. Blend until combined.
